Right now Rion really likes Indiana Jones. There is already so much marketing happening for the new movie that it's kind of hard to ignore. I told him we could watch parts of Raiders, but I wouldn't let him watch the end. The other day when I came home from work Rion started talking about Raiders. "And their faces were melting," he said, "and there was blood."
"You let him watch the end of Raiders," I asked Fred.
"No," he said, "I had it on, but he wasn't watching it."
"Then why is he telling me about blood and melting faces?"
"Oh. I guess he was watching it from the computer."
Rion always watches TV from the computer desk. You don't think he's listening either and then you hear him around the corner repeat something from the TV or worse something you have said. Now maybe Fred understands why I got so mad at him for watching Entourage in the middle of the day recently. So far Rion hasn't suffered from any nightmares, but he still talks about it.
When this blog was started I had two rowdy boys who never sat still. I tried to keep them busy with crayons and a coloring book. Yah, right. The crayons disappeared and were discovered months later, half melted in one of the heating vents. Since then we have added a daughter to the mix. And yes, she will sit down and color!

It's nice to be missed
The nice thing about working is coming home. Cordelia's face lights up when she sees me. If I don't immediately pick her up she gets upset. Yesterday, after I got home, I went into the kitchen. Cordelia started to cry and she turned on her tummy so she could see me. I peeked out around the corner and she smiled and stopped crying. I love that she knows who her mommy is and that she loves to see me. I hate leaving the kids for work, but knowing that I've been missed makes me feel so good.
Arrrrrrr, matey
The boys and I were playing pirates yesterday. This is what Torii said to Rion, "Fight me, you scurvy dog."

Well, that's how mommy does it
We were at Grandma's the other day and Torii was playing with some dolls. Grandma also had a doll in her hands and Torii tells, "let's feed the babies." Grandma says "ok" and follows Torii to the couch. Torii sits down, lifts up his shirt and puts the baby up to his chest.

I wonder.......
When cavemen and cavewomen had babies do you think they got up in the middle of the night to make sure their newborn was still breathing?
I don't know, I just find the image funny.

Mom wanted: Problem solving skills a must
Today Torii closed the bathroom door and then told Rion to open it. "Ha, ha, it's locked," he laughed. As everyone knows the best way to get a locked door open is with a bobby pin. But what happens when the bobby pin you need to open the door is on the other side of said door in the bathroom? I have a nice little set of mini screwdrivers that are mainly used to open battery compartments on the kids' toys and that did the trick. Just add creative problem solver to the mom part of my resume.
Scare me half to death
For most of the day my boys are loud. Really loud. There is only one time when they aren't. That would be late at night or the early morning, however you look at it. Sometimes, usually when I'm pregnant, I find myself getting out of bed for something. Potty break, glass of water, pain reliever for a headache that just won't go away. So I crawl out of bed, make my way to the bathroom or kitchen, turn back around and "what is that!?" In the dark stands a small person. My first thought is always, "who is that little person in my house and what is he going to do to me?" Then every horror scene from every horror movie I have ever seen runs through my brain. Now wide awake, I finally realize it is my son. One time Rion got up and sat down in the middle of the living room. I didn't see him until I was right next to him. Talk about scared out of my mind. This doesn't happen often, but it's often enough that I think by now I would be used to it. But I'm not. I have a near heart attack every time. Someday they would make great Navy Seals.
