....you've been in a car with someone other than your children and shouted out, "Look! A fire truck!"
....you've found half melted crayons in your heating vent.
....you've kept the shopping cart moving back and forth while shopping. Then realized your baby isn't with.
....you can relate to anything in this blog.
....you've made cereal for supper.
....you have a hiding space for your chocolate so the kids can't find it.
....the sweetest words anyone has ever said to you is "I love you mommy."
When this blog was started I had two rowdy boys who never sat still. I tried to keep them busy with crayons and a coloring book. Yah, right. The crayons disappeared and were discovered months later, half melted in one of the heating vents. Since then we have added a daughter to the mix. And yes, she will sit down and color!

I'm too busy
Have you ever been so busy that you forgot to use the bathroom? I was feeding Cordelia and waiting for her to get done so I could go to the bathroom. She got done, fell asleep, and what do I do. I did the dishes, folded some laundry, made some more shirts, broke up a couple of fights, poured some milk. cleaned up some spilled milk, played with trains and read game instructions to Rion. Then Cordelia cried and that triggered something in my brain. Oh yah, I was on the way to the bathroom about two hours ago. And Fred wants to be intimate more often. Yah, right, I can barely fit bathroom breaks into my daily schedule!
Yuck
Remember those Flintstones vitamins we got as kids that we could have ate like candy because we thought they were so good? They're not as good as you remember.

Ladies Man
I don't know what I'm going to do with Torii. More than a few times a day I hear him say he likes girls. Of every show he watches he has to tell me how he likes girls. "I don't like Max," he'll say, "I like Ruby." When he watches Scooby-Doo he has to tell me how he only likes Daphne, no one else. I let him buy a new Scooby-Doo movie the other day. The one he picked out didn't have Daphne in it so he decided he didn't want that one, he had to pick another one. I asked him if he liked Velma because she was a girl and after all she was the smart one. No, he likes Daphne. In fact it seems he likes redheads. Last summer we went to a wedding dance for my childhood neighbor. His sister was there and danced with Torii. From that instant Torii had a crush. He watched her all night. He wouldn't even dance with me. When he sees the shirt he wore that night, he will grab it and wear it and tell me about the dance and how he danced with his Andi.
Shhhhh
We have this hand held deer hunting game that is shaped like a gun. Here's my conversation with Torii when he had it the other day.
Torii-"What can I shoot with this?"
Me-"Deer and ducks."
Torii-"How do you shoot deer?"
Me-"Well you get really quiet, hide, aim your gun and shoot the deer."
Torii-"But boys are loud."

Screams like a girl
As I wrote the title I thought, "that would be a good name for Torii if he was Native American."
The other day he was playing with a toy and just started screaming. I thought he was hurt, but then we realized he was scared of a fly. He climbed on Fred's lap and was screaming for him to get the fly. He would not leave Fred's lap until he was sure the fly was gone.
Yesterday at Grandpa and Grandma's we kept throwing some of the cat's toys at Torii. We found out he is also scared of those. We were throwing them at him, putting them in his pocket, putting them down his shirt. We probably tramatized the poor kid.

My resolution
Last year was a big year. I turned 30 and a few weeks later had my third child. In the months leading up to my birthday and during my maternity leave, I did a lot of thinking. I thought about my life up to this point and yes, I was extremely happy. Still, I felt something was missing. That led to my new year's resolution. I spent my 20's saying I was going to (fill in the blank) whenever we had the money, the kids were in school or whatever else excuse I came up with. Last year I suddenly wondered what I was waiting for and as part of my resolution I wasn't going to wait anymore. There have been many times that I have thought about starting my own business, but this latest idea just wouldn't go away. The more I thought about it, the better it sounded. So to fill in the space I felt was missing in my life I decided to start my own business. I've been researching, putting a plan together and also buying materials. I'm so excited and so scared too. It could be a huge success or it could be a huge bomb. I hope it's successful enough to live off of. Although I say I'm doing this for myself I feel like I'm also doing it for my kids. I want to make money and be at home with them. I also want them to be proud of me. When people ask them what their mom does I hope they can say, "She owns her own business."
